Teleworking: Bringing Your Office Everywhere You Go

teleworking

I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about work, and we got to talking about teleworking.

She is able to work from home once a week with her job. However, she started talking about the process of doing that, and how she has to go through the IT department to install special software, give the system permission to work off-site, and then she has to regularly have it re-connected through the IT department; all in order for it to work smoothly and to make sure her connections are secure. To her frustration, however, it never actually runs smoothly. It is slow and constantly kicks her off. So, while able to telework from home, it becomes more of a hassle than a convenience. She gets way less work done than if she had just gone into the office in the first place.

Which is crazy, considering if you cut out your commute to your office, you technically add up to an extra hour of billable working time to your day. So, in essence, you should be getting more work done due to the added time.

Highway Traffic at SunsetAccording to a Washington Post article, titled “The Astonishing Human Potential Wasted on Commutes,” commutes are only increasing for the average worker, leading to more time spent sitting in traffic, than working.

For instance, it takes me 35 minutes in the morning to get to work, and 60 minutes in the evening to get back home. That’s 95 minutes every day, for 5 days a week, each year. That’s roughly the equivalent of 31 full days, that I’m spending in my car each year – or 744 hours spent sitting in traffic.

The Wildix Collaboration is your teleworking solution.

It allows you to be able to work from anywhere, as long as there is an internet connection.

Wildix has paid close attention to the rise in commutes, mixed with a growing interest in teleworking, and has created a system that is simple, requires no downloads, and can be taken anywhere. The Wildix Collaboration can be accessed from the browser, meaning there are no installations needed – because it is compatible with most operating systems (windows vista, Xp, 8 ,10, Macintosh, etc.). As an added benefit, Wildix creates products that are secure by design. No more lengthy trips to the IT department to ensure that your computer is secure enough to telework.
